Internet Websites

Using your favorite search engine, a search for "knowledge management" will produce many results.  Below you will find a sample of the types of websites and information that is freely available online.

From Information Today, the KMWorld website (<http://www.kmworld.com/>) provides online access to KMWorld Magazine, news links, white papers and more.  Some areas of this site may require registration (e.g. White Papers Archives), but this is free.

Brint Institute (<http://www.brint.org/>) provides a gateway to knowledge management information: <http://www.brint.com/km/>.  (There is a bit of advertising on this page, if you scroll down you will find information about the site and the various services.

dmoz (<http://www.dmoz.org>) Open Directory Project is (from their about page) "... the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors."  Within the Reference area of this site there are pages devoted to Knowledge Management.  Here you will find links to relevant material:  <http://www.dmoz.org/Reference/Knowledge_Management/>.

The KNOW Network: <http://www.knowledgebusiness.com>
This site is another portal to knowledge management information.  Like some of the other sites mentioned above, some areas of the site are freely accessible.  Registration is required for other areas.

Google Directory provides a number of links on various topics: <http://www.google.com/Top/Reference/Knowledge_Management/>.

Knowledge Management Professional Society (KMPro): <http://www.kmpro.org/>.  There are areas of this site that are available for "Registered Users" and it appears that registration is free.  There are other areas of the site that are available to "Members Only" and there is a $50.00 (USD) fee for membership.

Manageabililty.org provides a list of open source knowledge management solutions: <http://www.manageability.org/blog/stuff/knowledge-management-open-source-java>.

Journals
The journal publications listed below may be accessible from the Internet or through a subscription database.  Links have been provided when applicable and database providers have been noted.  Check with your University library to see if they provide access to the particular database.
